Diablo Ladies Rodeo Drill Team
|
Welcome to the home page of the Diablo Ladies Rodeo Drill Team. Our team was formed in 1997 as a way for
recreational riders to get together and share their love of horses.
Through hard work and dedication, the team began to show off their new-found
skill to what we hope are appreciative audiences.
The team started their performance
career at local events; small horse shows were their main venue. Today,
the Diablo Ladies Rodeo Drill Team has had the privilege of entertaining audiences
at a wide variety of functions. The team's performance schedule
includes: the Spring Stampede hosted by CSHA Region 5, Russian River
Rodeo, Western States Horse Expo, Alameda County Fair parade, Livermore Pro
Rodeo, Lakeport Rodeo, Turlock Rodeo, Ukiah Rodeo, Isleton Rodeo, California
State Fair, Mendocino Rodeo, Niles Festival of Lights, and various
fundraisers. We're proud to have performed at these events and hope the
list will continue to grow.
The Diablo Ladies Rodeo Drill Team was also
featured on the Evening Magazine TV show.
ALERT!!
The Diablo Ladies Rodeo Drill Team has just signed a very special new member
to the team. While the team has always been ladies, they've made an
exception to allow this very special gentleman to drill with the team.

special member.

When we look at what being on a drill
team has given us, we find that it's more than just riding patterns.
-
Our riding skills have grown with each
practice and performance.
-
Although our practices are hard work, we have
a tremendous amount of fun.
-
It's a great way to make new friends.
-
It's tremendously rewarding to perform for an
appreciative crowd
-
Our horses have learned from all of their
experiences, too.
If this sounds like just the thing
you're looking for, come try out for the team. We practice almost every Monday night
in Livermore, CA. (Practice days and times subject to change.)
In order to try out and be accepted on
the team, you must: be 18 years or older; have access to a horse; have horse
transportation; and, most important, be willing to make the commitment that
is necessary to be part of this wonderful team. Contact Margaret O'Brien

The Drill Team's
Latest News
|
| The Diablo Ladies are busy promoting drill
team throughout the Bay Area. On Wednesday, November 5, 2008,
they were invited to give a presentation at the monthly meeting of
the Tri-Valley Trailblazers. The presentation was very well
received and the Diablo Ladies enjoyed their evening with a
delightful group of people. If you're interested in their
group, please check them out on their web site at
http://www.trivalleytrailblazers.com. The Diablo Ladies
have some of their own members who belong to the Trailblazers and
hope to see more members of the Trailblazers join the drill team.
As we pointed out in the meeting, all types of
riders have ridden on the Diablo Ladies Rodeo Drill Team. We
have seen trail riders, recreational riders, gymkhana, show riders,
rodeo queens, beginner riders, advanced riders, dressage riders,
moms, daughters, and grandmothers. You don't need to be young
or have a fancy show horse to be on a DRILL TEAM! Come give it
a try. You'll have the time of your life. |
